About St. Armands Key and the Circle
St. Armands Key is the small island between downtown Sarasota and Lido Key, linked to the mainland by the John Ringling Causeway. Circus owner John Ringling bought the land in the 1910s and laid out its streets in a wheel around a central park, naming them after U.S. presidents. Today St. Armands Circle is Sarasota’s best-known shopping and dining district, with more than 130 shops and restaurants, classical statues and the Circus Ring of Fame around the central park.
The neighborhood around the Circle is residential and walkable. From most streets you can stroll to dinner on the Circle and be on the sand at Lido Beach in about 10 minutes.

Can I walk from a St. Armands rental to the beach?
Yes. Lido Beach is about half a mile from St. Armands Circle, roughly a 10 minute walk from most homes in the neighborhood.
Are St. Armands vacation rentals available by the week?
Some are. Rental rules on St. Armands and Lido Key are set by the City of Sarasota, so many homes here can rent weekly, unlike most of Longboat Key. Each listing shows its own minimum stay.
Is parking available near St. Armands Circle?
Yes. There is street parking around the Circle and a public parking garage, but staying within walking distance means you rarely need to move the car.
Do you allow pets at your St. Armands rentals?
Our home at 232 S Boulevard of the Presidents considers pets. Most of our condos do not allow pets, so check each listing or ask us.
