Lido Key vacation rentals from Florida Gulf Coast Vacation Rentals range from weekly pool homes a short walk from Lido Beach to month-or-longer condos at Lido Towers and the Ritz-Carlton-managed Beach Residences. Lido Key is the easiest island in Sarasota to enjoy without a car: the public beach, St. Armands Circle and the trolley to downtown are all close by.
About Lido Key
Lido Key is the barrier island directly west of downtown Sarasota, reached over the John Ringling Causeway through St. Armands Circle. New Pass separates it from Longboat Key to the north, and Big Pass separates it from Siesta Key to the south. Unlike Longboat Key, Lido allows weekly rentals in many homes, so it is our go-to island for families who want a week or two at the beach.
Lido Key’s three beaches
- Lido Beach (public): the main beach on Ben Franklin Drive, with a large free parking lot, year-round lifeguards, restrooms, showers, a heated public lap pool, a beach café and picnic shelters. The easiest beach in the area for families.
- North Lido Beach: a quieter, natural stretch backed by dunes and a wooded park, reached on foot from the north end of the island. Lifeguard coverage is limited, so swim with care.
- South Lido Park and Ted Sperling Park: a large park at the island’s south tip with picnic areas, nature trails, kayaking and views of Siesta Key across Big Pass. Currents in the pass are strong; it is a place for walking and picnics rather than swimming.
